Dr. Saad Zafar

Dr. Saad Zafar has a PhD in Computing from Griffith University, Australia. He started his career in 1990 working as a software engineer in the United States developing embedded systems as well as business applications in companies like Phoenix Technologies, Polysar Incorporated and Astablu Technologies. In Pakistan he has provided consultancy in the field of Information Technology to a number of organizations before joining the academic profession in 2001. He is the founding Director of Riphah Institute of Informatics (RII) and is currently serving as the Dean Faculty of Computing at Riphah International University (RIU). He has taught Software Engineering, Requirements Engineering, Security Engineering, Systems Analysis and Design and Software Quality at RII, RIU, Beacon House Informatics and Griffith University. His research area is software engineering with a focus on developing safe and secure systems. He has published his work in international publications. He also holds additional responsibility of Director Information Technology at RIU. He is Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) and Certified Information Security Manager (CISM).
